Jordan Thierry

Jordan Thierry is a filmmaker, writer, and activist, born and raised in Portland. He is the owner and Creative Director of Dream Chase Media LLC, a multimedia production company that uses culture, creativity and community as inspirations for compelling storytelling. His most recent feature film, GRANDMA'S ROSES (2021) is a raw, intimate documentary exploring the labor & love women invest in their families and communities. His first feature film, THE BLACK FATHERHOOD PROJECT (2013) received wide community acclaim for its breakdown of the history of the Black family. His first short film, the regional Emmy-nominated FOOTPRINTS IN THE STRUGGLE (2006) tells the story of Beatrice Cannady, Oregon's formidable journalist and civil rights activist.

He is also the author of A KIDS BOOK ABOUT SYSTEMIC RACISM, which was selected by Oprah for her "Favorite Things List" and included on numerous "Must Read Kids Books" lists. Jordan is a graduate of the University of Oregon and Howard University and has worked as an educator, philanthropic consultant, policy advocate, and independent filmmaker. He is a co-founder of the Beaverton Black Parent Union, and a board member of the Los Angeles Black Worker Center, and EduExito in the Dominican Republic.
